Departing Cork Airport
Dropping Off Passengers
Jack Lynch Departure Lounge
The check-in area at Cork Airport is located in the Departures Hall on ground level (Level 1) of the terminal building. Most airlines recommend that you arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight’s departure time.
At peak times, particularly during the summer months, we also advise that you make sure you allow for some additional time for check-in and security screening.
Returning Rental Cars
Hired cars should be returned to the car rental return area prior to checking in. Passengers can then avail of a courtesy coach to transport them to the terminal building.
Tax Refund Facility
Value-Added Tax (VAT) is a retail sales tax in Ireland and the retail export scheme allows visitors from outside the European Union (EU) who purchase goods to take home with them to benefit from tax relief. Relief is not allowed on services (for example, hotel accommodation, meals, car hire etc.).
The scheme operates in two principal ways. The visitor pays the tax when making purchases and subsequently gets a refund from the relevant retailer or refund agency, or, in certain retail outlets, the goods are sold tax free at the point of sale.
You can find out more about how the scheme operates here.
The Tax Refund office is located on the Ground Floor (Level 1) adjacent to the Refuel cafe.
