Topflight Expands Summer Flights From Cork Airport

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007.  Specialist, tour operator Topflight, is expanding its services out of Cork Airport this summer to cater for increased passenger numbers through the principal international gateway serving the South of Ireland.  This Summer, Topflight are offering holidays from Cork to Costa de la Luz in Spain, Lanzarote in the Canary Islands as well as direct flights from Cork to Italy – serving Verona Breschia, Lake Garda, Rome, as well as Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast and Puglia.

With an early Sunday morning service from Cork Airport, Topflight offers great holiday options in Portugal, featuring a choice of top class accommodation in Albufeira, Montechoro, Armacao de Pera, Villamoura, Quinta do Lago, Carvoeiro and Vale do Lobo, including a range of private villas.  Golfing enthusiasts are also well catered for with a range of specialist golf related holiday breaks on offer.

By availing of the direct Cork to Faro flight, intending Topflight passengers can experience the new destination of Costa de la Luz in Spain – a relatively undiscovered part of the country – with excellent golf courses, great surfing and offering day trips such as Seville and Jerez.  Costa de la Luz boasts long stretches of fine sandy beaches and whitewashed villages and is within easy reach of the resorts of Islantilla and Isla Canela.

With direct Topflight charter flights to Verona Breschia, intending passengers can easily travel to many of Lake Garda’s exquisite resorts.  These resorts include Riva, Torbole, Malcesine, Garda, Bardolino, Peschiera, Sirmione, Desenzano, Gardone Riviera and Limone. 

Accommodation options vary and include family bungalows on the 4-star Bella Italia Campsite at Peschiera to 5-star wellness hotels in a number of resorts. 

From June 22nd to September 1st next holidaymakers can book seats at the world famous Verona Opera, with the opera programme this year featuring Nabucco, Aida, La Boheme, The Barber of Seville and La Traviata.

In further news from Cork Airport, Air Southwest will launch its inaugural service from Cork to Newquay in Cornwall this Friday, May 4th.  The new route commencing this Friday will see the service operating three days a week – on Monday, Friday and Sunday throughout May, increasing to four flights a week with a Wednesday service from June.


Flights will depart Cork at 12.55pm arriving in Newquay at 1.45pm, giving a flight time of less than an hour.  On the return leg, flights will depart Newquay at 11.20am, arriving in Cork at 12.10pm.

Cornwall is renowned for its natural beauty.  Framed by almost 300 miles of rugged coastline, it boasts the best surfing and bathing beaches in the country and is also home to some of the most beautiful gardens in Britain.

Newquay Cornwall Airport is just four miles from the stunning Watergate Bay, home to Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant and a short journey from other major attractions including the Tate Gallery at St. Ives and wilds of Bodmin Moor.
