Airline signs a two year contract extension with the On-Board catering company

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007.  Following a competitive tendering process, Wizz Air, Central and Eastern Europe’s largest low fare-low cost airline, confirms its plans to extend an existing contract with on-board catering company, Gate Gourmet, for a further two years.

The low fare-low cost airline currently provides a three times weekly service from Cork to the popular Polish destinations of Gdansk and Katowice. Wizz Air has experienced phenomenal growth in the past three years.  This impressive growth is due to receive a further boost with the addition of new aircraft in the coming months.

Wizz Air flies a young fleet of 180 seater Airbus A320 aircraft.  With 32 new A320 aircraft on order plus 12 additional options, Wizz Air’s fleet should consist of up to 53 aircraft by 2012.  The airline operates flights from Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Romania.  Wizz Air recently celebrated its 6 millionth passenger milestone and expects to reach the 7 million mark this summer.
