Monday, May 28th, 2007. Cork Airport management is
delighted to endorse a Cork Chamber initiative designed to develop business
links between Ireland and Hungary.

(EIC) and Malév Hungarian Airlines are hosting the seminar entitled “Doing
Business in Hungary” which will take place this coming Wednesday from 9.30am to

Cork.
“Cork’s direct link with Budapest through the Malev Hungarian
Airline scheduled service has opened the door for Cork businesses to engage in
this new and exciting market. Wednesday’s seminar is exactly the kind of boost
that Cork businesses need to compete in this emerging international marketplace
for Cork’s business sector is full of world class quality products and services
and it can only benefit from the contact with key overseas facilitators”, said
Kevin Cullinane, Cork Airport’s Marketing Manager.

Since joining the EU in
2004, Hungary has become an increasingly attractive market for investment. Its
geographical location, low corporate tax rate and dynamic growth in exports are
all positive factors in attracting foreign companies.
As the
Hungarian National Airline, Malév serves around 60 destinations in 35 countries,
mainly in Europe, including Helsinki, London Gatwick, Madrid, New York JFK and
Bangkok.
With some 3,000 staff, Malév carried more than 3
million passengers in 2006. Its fleet of some 30 aircraft, including three
Boeing 767’s used on its long haul routes, plus 18 new generation 737’s and nine
regional aircraft – has an average age of five years old. They operate
around 80 departures daily in a four-wave hub system at Budapest, connecting
routes from the west and the east.
Malév Hungarian Airlines
currently offers four flights per week from Cork to Budapest. Further
