Kevin Cullinane, Marketing Manager, Cork Airport, congratulated Aer Arann on its announcement saying: "Cork Airport welcomes this latest addition to our ever expanding route network and Aer Arann’s continuing confidence in its French routes from Cork Airport. As Cork has the oldest yacht club in the world - the Royal Cork Yacht Club - and La Rochelle is the home of the oldest yacht club in France - la Société des Régates Rochelaises - this service will provide great opportunities for the sailing fraternities of both cities to meet".

Commenting on the announcement, Colin Lewis, Head of Sales and Marketing, Aer Arann said: "We are delighted to be increasing our network of French routes for 2008. La Rochelle is the ideal destination for Cork customers wishing to spend a long weekend exploring the city, or perhaps touring through the dramatic Brittany landscape nearby.
