Wizz Air’s first flight took off from Katowice in May 2004 and remained the largest low cost airline in Poland in 2007, holding 35% of the Polish low cost carrier market. Its leadership will further strengthen during the summer with 14 new routes due to be launched in the first six months of 2008.
Wizz Air has seven operating bases in Eastern Europe: Katowice, Warsaw, Gdansk and Poznan in Poland, Budapest in Hungary, Sofia in Bulgaria and Bucharest in Romania. The airline offers flights to 50 destinations and is due to open its 8th European base in May this year.
