The new terminal at Cork Airport offers a myriad of opportunities to advertise directly to the 3.2 million passengers, meeters and greeters that visit the airport each year. Cork Airport continues to grow and expand at a rate of 9% year on year in terms of increased passengers and customers. Last year, the total passenger numbers travelling through Cork Airport exceeded 3.2 million with a further 200,000 passengers expected in 2008.
Over 74% of passengers travelling through Cork Airport are in the ABC1 socio-economic social class (35% AB, 39% C1). Two in five passengers (40%) are travelling for business reasons while one in three (33%) travel for leisure pursuits with one in five (18%) visiting family and friends.
In recent years the number of scheduled airline services has grown in line with the pace of growing passenger traffic. As well as an increase in the number of daily flights to Dublin and London, daily scheduled services to Amsterdam, Paris and Rome have been immensely popular. In total, over 40 scheduled services are provided to Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belfast, Berlin, Birmingham, Bratislava/Vienna, Brest, Bristol, Carcassonne, Cardiff, Dublin, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Faro, Galway, Gdansk, Glasgow, Jersey, Katowice, Lanzarote, La Rochelle, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Stansted, Lorient, Malaga, Manchester, Munich, Nantes, Newcastle, Newquay, Nice, Paris, Plymouth, Prague, Rome, Southampton and Tenerife,. There are also Summer Sun, Winter Sun, Winter Ski and pilgrimage Charter flights throughout the year to continental Europe. With the growth in sun summer charter flights from Cork Airport it is now possible to fly to over 60 different destinations each week during the summer months. These vary from France, the Canary Islands, Turkey, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Jersey, Croatia, Tunisia and Bulgaria
