The icing on the cake? Try icing on the walls with the gingerbread house sponsored by Cork International Airport Hotel!
10 December 2008
Bricks and mortar replaced by biscuit, icing and chocolate? A gingerbread
house might sound like the stuff of fairytales but this Christmas, Cork
International Airport Hotel and Cork Airport will host this very special house
for local children to decorate with all their favourite sweets and goodies!
On December 16th and 17th the gingerbread house will sit in the main terminal
of Cork Airport, where children are invited to personalise their own panel of
the house with sweeties between 3pm to 5pm. The house might end up looking like
something out of a fairytale, but there will only be good spirits in Cork
Airport this Christmas, no wicked ones!
The event is sponsored by Cork International Airport Hotel and on both days
there will be a collection in aid of ARC Cancer Support House Cork. ARC Cancer
Support House is a voluntary organisation established to provide a holistic
centre in which people with cancer and their families can find emotional support
and practical help.
Parents will also be catered for with yummy festive hot chocolate and
mince pies, while the kids live out their own personal fairytale – all for a
good cause, of course!
This is the third year that Cork
International Airport Hotel has sponsored the event and General Manger Patrick
Hanley is delighted to be involved again. “I hope the gingerbread house will be
as big a success as last year, again raising money for such a worthwhile cause.
We’re all looking forward to the day and also expect it will be a lot of fun for
everyone involved, particularly our local participating families!”
“Cork Airport is delighted to host the annual Gingerbread House decoration in
association with Cork International Airport Hotel with proceeds going to the ARC
Cancer Support House ”, said Cork Airport’s Marketing Manager, Kevin Cullinane.
“The children of Cork can help us raise money for a good cause and the chance to
have a fun filled afternoon by actively participating in this community
fundraiser”, he added.
