Prohibited Items

Your safety and security is a priority for Cork Airport and DAA. When travelling by plane you will be required to go through Passenger Security Screening for a security check. This security check is related to what you are allowed to take with you on board an aircraft.

Both your carry-on luggage and check-in baggage will be checked by means of detection equipment and may also be subject to a hand search. This is to ensure that you are not carrying any potentially dangerous substances or items that could pose a risk to the passengers and crew or to the security and safety of the aircraft.

Passengers are advised to carry just ONE piece of hand luggage. Sharp objects should be removed from carry-on luggage and placed in checked-in luggage.

Before departing for the airport, please check your flight is on time and confirm what time your airline requires you to check in. Cork Airport recommends you arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your scheduled flight departs.

Please be patient if you have to queue at the check-in desks, security control, or at the boarding gate - the security checks we employ as you pass through the airport ensure the safety of all our passengers.

This list is not definitive and security may request that certain items, which are not on the list, be surrendered for security and safety reasons.

Help us reduce the queues at security control by ensuring that you do not pack prohibited items in your carry-on luggage. Make sure you leave plenty of time after check-in for the security screening process.

Passengers should plan to arrive in the terminal building at least 90 minutes before their flight departure time irrespective of whether they are checking in online or at the airport.

Cork Airport would like to thank all passengers for their cooperation with security procedures.
