18 September 2012
The official opening of the exhibition will take place at 6.30pm on Friday, September 21st as part of Culture Night 2012.
“We are delighted to host this exhibition for Carrigaline Photographic Society as we fully support the society’s aim of developing and promoting the knowledge and appreciation of photography in the community”, said Kevin Cullinane, Marketing Manager of Cork Airport.
The images in the exhibition represent the individual insights of each photographer as they responded to their environment, or a particular event or concept to create their own unique images. Various tools and techniques of photography have been used by the artists to realise their vision.
The strength of such an exhibition is the ability of the medium of photography to communicate emotions and ideas and to inspire without the use of words, allowing the viewer to take what he or she wishes from the photographs.
The exhibition is one of over 200 events taking place across 80 venues around Cork city and county as part of Culture Night 2012.
