Things to do here

Old trams, castles perched on hills, steep narrow streets full of character, super museums, and lots of great restaurants, Portugal’s capital has a charm all its own. Lisbon is also an excellent gateway to explore the charms of the Alentejo, the rural wine growing region that remains one of the country’s least developed but most enjoyable destinations.

To Eat

  1. Time Out Market

Located in the old Mercado da Ribeira, the market, open since 2014, is home to the more casual outposts of some of Lisbon’s best chefs and restaurateurs. Open until late every day. More

  2. Cervejaria Ramiro
An informal Lisbon landmark celebrating the best of Portuguese sea food since the 1950s. The no nonsense waiters serve both locals and the many tourists who come to enjoy a real Lisbon experience. More

To Stay

  1. Fontana Park
A Doubletree by Hilton, the Fontana Park is ultra-modern, with rooms and suites with large windows and a city centre location with easy access to shopping and the sights. More
