About Salzburg:

Salzburg itself is a cultural gem with an imperious history writ large in the splendid Baroque architecture of the UNESCO listed ‘Allstadt’ or Old Town and the city’s unbelievably beautiful setting against the backdrop of some seriously impressive mountains including the almost 7,000 foot high Untersberg,  just 25 minutes from Salzburg, and a favourite weekend destination for the city’s residents . Mozart’s birthplace is also the gateway to the ’Five Regions’ of the Ski Amadé resort - made up of 28 villages that offer skiing heaven for skiers of all abilities.

Things to do here:

Ski Amadé OUTDOOR FUN

Over 760 kilometres of piste and 270 lifts – the Ski Amadé region is the second largest ski area in Europe – and amongst the best value also.

Salzburger Marionettentheater CULTURAL

For over a century the puppeteers of this Salzburg institution have been entertaining children and adults alike with performances of everything from Mozart's Magic Flute to The Sound of Music.

DomQuartier Salzburg HISTORY

2014 saw the opening of a new visitor experience, the DomQuartier Salzburg, in the historical heart of the city. Visitors can now tour the Baroque masterpiece of the prince bishop’s Residence, the Cathedral and the Benedictine Monastery of St. Peter as part of the DomQuartier experience.

Hallstatt Salt Mines TOUR

Located in the mountainous Salzkammergut region about an hour from Salzburg, salt has been mined at Hallstatt since pre-historic times. The village, with its 16th-century Alpine houses, sits on Lake Hallstatt's western shore. A funicular connects the village to Salzwelten, an ancient salt mine with a subterranean salt lake and a museum detailing the history of mining at the site.
