Things to do here

World class wine region aside, Bordeaux is also a port city on the river Garonne, and the centre of a famed regional cuisine. The city’s Gothic Cathédrale St-André is a must see for any visitor and the city's cultural treasures are housed in the 18th and 19th century mansions that once were homes for the city’s mercantile elite. Public gardens line the city’s river quays and the very grand Place de la Bourse, originally built as a royal square, has the famous Three Graces fountain at its centre.

To Eat

  1. At La Tupina - its the food of the region that's front and centre including Bordelaise eel.
  2. Creativity is the mantra at L’Appart - new takes on classic dishes. Popular with locals and visitors alike.

To Stay

  1. La Maison Bordeaux is an 18th-century Château in the middle of the city.
  2. Ideal as a base for getting around by foot, La Maison du Lierre is only a 10 minute walk from the Grand Theatre.
