New Ryanair Naples route to commence Sunday

Over 55,000 passengers are expected to travel through Cork Airport, Ireland's fastest growing and most punctual airport, this June Bank Holiday Weekend. Up 10% over the same period last year, Cork Airport welcomes Ryanair’s new service to Naples, Italy this Sunday (2 June). In total, there are eight new routes operating out of Cork Airport for Summer 2019, including Budapest, Dubrovnik, Lisbon, London Luton, Malta, Nice and Poznań. The busiest day for arrivals and departures will be Saturday, 1 June.

Six established summer services kick off this weekend, as Ryanair commences two flights to Barcelona via Reus Airport on 1 June and Girona Airport on 3 June. The airline also will fly to the French cities of Carcassonne and Bordeaux from 3 June and the Italian airport of Milan Bergamo from 2 June. Spanish carrier Iberia Express commences its summer schedule to Madrid from 1 June. To download a copy of Cork Airport’s 2019 Summer Schedule, visit corkairport.com.

Managing Director at Cork Airport Niall MacCarthy said: “We are preparing for another busy June Bank Holiday weekend at Cork Airport. All our seasonal routes will be fully operational from this weekend, with over 50 routes on offer during the year from Cork Airport, along with daily long-haul connectivity through major European hub airports. This means even greater choice and flexibility for those passengers choosing to fly from Cork Airport.”

In total, 2.6 million passengers are expected to travel through Cork Airport this year, up 8% on 2018, its fourth consecutive year of growth.

Mr MacCarthy added: “As we are expecting a busy weekend ahead, we advise passengers to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight and go directly to the security screening area once checked in.”

Passengers are also advised of changes to Cork Airport’s road layout, which includes a new set down lane. Drivers can set down for up to 15 minutes free on the forecourt before tariffs apply. Those choosing to leave their car can avail of great value parking by booking online in advance here.
