KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has commenced a daily service from Cork Airport to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The inaugural flight initially planned for March 30 was delayed due to the travel restrictions imposed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Linking the South of Ireland to the capital city of the Netherlands, the route will be operated by KLM Cityhopper using an Embraer 175 aircraft, carrying 88 passengers. With a 13.25 daily departure time from Cork Airport arriving into Schiphol at 16.20 locally, passengers will have the opportunity to connect to up to 100 European and intercontinental destinations on KLM’s extensive network.

H.E. Mr. Adriaan Palm, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands said: ‘’I would like to congratulate KLM and Cork Airport on the introduction of the new daily flight between Amsterdam and Cork. It is a sign of the continued strengthening and deepening of ties between Ireland and the Netherlands. This is also illustrated clearly by the increasing trade and tourism between our two countries. The new daily flight is also a sign of confidence in the future. For now, only essential travel is possible as we continue to fight COVID-19, but the daily flight will provide invaluable connectivity for the citizens and the business community of the South of Ireland in the future. I hope that soon people will also be able to use the Cork-Amsterdam connection for non-essential visits. They can then experience the wonderful offerings available in both Ireland and the Netherlands.’’

Cork Airport and KLM remind passengers that the health and safety of their customers and staff is an absolute priority. Both teams are fully mobilized to ensure the highest levels of health and safety for their customers and to ensure they travel in complete confidence.
